I hope you have had as wonderful of a weekend as I have! I have a nice relaxing day planned today. I slept in way later than usual and later I’m going to have lunch with my family. After a full day of relaxing, I’m going to follow it up with a sweaty workout at the gym. However, this workout doesn’t require a full day of relaxing or a gym! I hope you enjoy it!
There’s nothing I love more than a good workout! Although I’m always brainstorming new workout ideas for my group fitness classes and personal training clients, sometimes it’s easy for my own workout routine to get monotonous and boring. In order to avoid workout boredom I like to mix it up with fun circuits and other fun calorie blasting cardio workouts.
I did this little workout last week in order to breakup my usual resistance training program. It’ll get you sweating in no time and no equipment is required! You can do this workout anywhere, which may be helpful if you don’t have access to a gym or your on vacation.
It’s a pyramid workout, so you complete 10 reps of each exercise. Exercises that require 2 leg movements, such as alt. lunges (left and right leg) & bicycle crunches (left and right side), 2 movements= 1 rep.
By the end of the workout you will have completed: 100 Jumping jacks, 90 crunches, 80 squats, 70 push-ups, 60 leg lifts, 50 bicycle crunches, 40 alternating leg lunges, 30 full body crunches, 20 burpees, and 10 minutes of cardio!
Round 1: 10 reps jumping jacks
Round 2: 10 reps jumping jacks + 10 crunches
Round 3:10 reps jumping jacks + 10 crunches + 10 reps squats etc.
