Today I woke up completely unmotivated to go to my 6am workout. I even typed up a text that said, “Hey guys, I’m not gonna make it to the gym this morning. Workout hard for me!”.
As I sat with one eye open (this is my normal morning routine) and the other refusing to wake up.. I contemplated sending it. If I send it, it will be the first time I’ve missed a workout, so my partners probably won’t be too mad. Or they could scrutinize me for months for being a slacker..Nope, couldn’t go through with it. I don’t want to be that person who doesn’t show up for a workout. Off the the gym I went.
When I got there it wasn’t even 6am yet, so I went and warmed up on the treadmill. At 6:10 there was still no sight of my workout partners.. it seemed as if I had been blown off. Talk about how mad I was. I began missing my bed pretty seriously at that point.
Instead of going home and being lazy. I decided to go ahead and knock out a work out on my own. After all, I don’t work out to impress my workout buddies, I do it for myself!
After a short strength training circuit, I did this cardio combo.
Bring your big girl pants for this workout and run like hell.
I hope you give this workout a try! I jogged at 6mph, ran up him at 5.5mph, and I sprinted @11mph during my workout. Try these speeds, then adjust speed as you see fit! Make sure that when you sprint you are giving and all out effort! If I don’t talk to you before tomorrow, Happy Valentines Day!!
